South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson awarded Senator Katrina Shealy the South Carolina Human Task Force inaugural Advocate of the Year Award on January 13, 2025. AG Wilson cited Sen Shealy as being “the one constant over the years sponsoring legislation to advocate on behalf of the citizens of South Carolina on issues identified by the Human Trafficking Task Force.”
“The Task Force recognizes all the contributions you have made to consistently support the victims and survivors of this state by introducing and passing legislation to pass laws and rights of our victims. Your steadfast support inspired the creation of an award to be given each year … to the unique individuals who contribute to anti-human trafficking here in South Carolina.”
The award inscription reads: “The South Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force presents the inaugural Advocate of the Year Award to Katrina Frye Shealy for demonstrating a profound commitment to human trafficking advocacy as a South Carolina Senator through steadfast legislative impact.”
